The funeral for Robert Sadler was held on 8th August,
2013. The service was attended by over 200 family
members, friends, war comrades, and fellow Portsmouth
supporters who arrived in 'Pompey' colours, as requested
by Rob.
A highly decorated veteran, Rob served not only in the
British army, but also with the United Nations peace-
keeping forces; distinguishing himself in various, weighty
conflicts throughout the world. His awards include the
Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service.
Hayling Island's Royal British Legion standard bearer,
Adrian Trew, rendered the ceremonial honours. Ironically,
it was his first assignment since taking over the position
from Rob, himself.
